Valley Grass is a bluegrass gospel and bluegrass band that originated out of Rich Valley Presbyterian Church. The band was started in March 2006 by Raymond Campbell, former member of Fescue, as a result of individuals who were eager to learn how to play a musical instrument met weekly at the church and from there the group was formed. Several members of the group have been and will continue to be mentors to the youth that are interested in the learning the music.
Valley Grass has played at numerous gospel and bluegrass venues over the past few years. Some of those include churches, community events, the Pickin’ Porch, Grace Healthcare, Crooked Road General Store, Wolfe’s BBQ & Catering Restaurant, Smyth County Jam and the Heartwood. We play once a month at Valley Health Care and twice a month at the Southwest Virginia Mental Health Institute as part of our contribution back to the community.
Everyone in the group holds dear to their faith and thanks God for the talents He has placed in their lives. We give God all the praise and the glory for the wonderful things He has done in our lives and the lives of others through our music ministry.
